HISTORY OF AVIATION
Starting before the Wright Brothers first flight in 1903, we take a journey through time looking at history's aviation pioneers - from rockets, balloons and gliders to the first powered controlled flight and beyond.
We look at how politics, social culture and war shaped and developed the form of the airplane from a fragile machine into the supersonic aircraft of today.
The Hurricane was caught somewhat in a generation gap, representing the culmination of three decades of aircraft design and technology and also paving the way for the future. Our presentation explores how aircraft developed from flying for just twelve seconds to becoming one of the most important inventions of the 20th Century.
